Piaget Emperador Cushion watch
The constellation of watchmaking and jewellery arts has been enhanced by this unique Piaget composition, masterfully combining the two forms of expertise in its cushion-cut Emperador Tourbillon Self-winding Skeletonised Diamond-Set Exceptional Piece. Defying the laws of possibility, the Manufacture markets its unique skeletonised baguette-set movement, in an ultra-thin, cushion-cut composition no more than 6 mm deep and adorned with a prestigious flying tourbillon. 71 baguette-cut diamonds form a glittering 8 around the rings on the fringe of the flying tourbillon cage and the platinum oscillating weight, whose surface is also entirely gem-set. Driving back the limits of daring ever further, Piaget has also set both sides of each of these working element of the movement in gold. The baguette-cut diamonds are echoed by the 561 round-cut diamonds, showcasing three different setting techniques: channel setting for the baguette-cut diamonds, bead setting for the tops of the bridges and advanced bead setting for the flanks. Demonstrating its virtuosity, Piaget has even gem-set the profiles of the bridges and certain screws in the 1270D movement. 786 diamonds glitter in magical brilliance across the bezel, middle, lugs and crown. Supremely refined, this unique luxury watch is graced with a sumptuous bracelet set with 732 baguette-cut diamonds in a virtuoso blend of the art of Parisian enamelling and superb mastery of setting. This required 200 hours of painstakingly meticulous work for the goldsmiths. True to its motto "Always do better than necessary", Piaget has enhanced this exclusive mechanism with finishing created entirely with a file, in accord with its ultimate "image" level of finishing.
